Westminster Abbey Photos

Westminster Abbey is a beautiful gothic church situated just a short walk from the Thames. It is also a UNESCO world heritage site popular with many visitors to London. Westminster Abbey has been the nation’s Coronation church since 1066 and has also seen many Royal Weddings and Funerals through the years.

On top of all this rich history, Westminster Abbey is a truly stunning building, a fabulous example of medieval architecture and the exterior offers visitors plenty of photo opportunities. Unfortunately, it is not allowed to take pictures in the Abbey. If you want interior Westminster Abbey pictures, you have to buy a postcard or a book.

However, the opportunity to take exterior Westminster Abbey images is a real enjoyment as the richness of decorative details is truly astonishing. Details at ground level pose no problem, but a long telephoto lens is usually necessary to capture them in their full glory as the church is quite tall and access to the details wouldn’t be possible without special equipment.

Westminster Abbey photos can be found on many websites because this splendid church is a popular photographic subject and is usually at the top of the list for many tourists visiting London.
