Tower Bridge Photos
Tower Bridge is a bascule bridge in London, over the River Thames. It is close to the Tower of London, which gives it its name.Construction of the bridge started in 1886 and took 8 years. The bridge was opened in 1893 and is still in use today, it is opened for river traffic many times a week. The Tower Bridge carries 1,900 vehicles per hour between 7am and 10am during London rush hour.
Bridges have always been natural subjects for outdoor photographers. Either they stand out proudly as a testimony of human achievement, or they encroach gently into the environment as evidence of our presence.
There are several ways how to photograph bridges. They can be the central point of the composition, a way of saying the Tower Bridge is London; without it the London would be nothing. This technique has been used many times and there are many Tower Bridge pictures where the bridge dominates the scene.
If you are interested in fine details, you can take close-up images and capture details of construction and decoration. Most photographers don’t use this technique to take Tower Bridge images.
Or you can find a viewpoint and organize the scene so that a significant background element is included in the photo. There are many Tower Bridge Pictures where you can also see Tower Of London in the image or the other way round.
