Piccadilly Circus Photos
Piccadilly Circus is a famous road junction and public space of London and you can find Piccadilly pictures on many websites. The PiccadillyCircus is close to major shopping and entertainment areas in the West End and its status as a major traffic intersection has made Piccadilly Circus a busy meeting place and a tourist attraction in its own right.
Notable is also the Shaftesbury memorial fountain and statue of an archer popularly known as Eros . It is surrounded by several noted buildings, including the London Pavilion and Criterion Theatre. The Piccadilly Circus is particularly known for its video display and neon signs mounted on the corner building on the northern side, which you can see also on our Piccadilly Circus images.
Pictures with neon signs can be really beautiful. The key to a successful image is to find a balance between the light emitted by the neon lights and the daylight so you can preserve a sense of the surroundings the neon signs are in.
The best technique is to shoot close to dawn or dusk when both the exposure for the lights and the ambient light for the sky and environment match. That means that you should be at the scene around sunrise or sunset and bring a tripod, since the exposures can last from 1second to 5 seconds long, with an ISO of 100. You could hand hold, but in this case use high ISO so that you can keep your shutter speeds up above 1/60 second.
The Piccadilly Circus photos on this website were taken early in the afternoon because of the lack of time, but we are going to use the above mentioned technique and shoot more Piccadilly Circus pictures at the sunset.
